Steven L. Schneider, MD - Family Medicine
Dr. Schneider is a family medicine physician in Boise, Idaho, and
chief medical officer of Healthwise, Incorporated. He founded the Idaho
Wellness Center in 1980, an innovative family practice based on prevention,
self-care, and self-responsibility. Dr. Schneider is an expert on the concept
of patients as partners and has spoken to both national and international
conferences on the importance of building good patient–physician
relationships. Dr. Schneider serves as chief medical editor for all Healthwise
publications and products. He helped guide the development of the Healthwise
Knowledgebase health information system and reviews all of the topics. He also
serves as chairman of the Provider Steering Committee for the Healthwise
Communities Project in Idaho and as medical director for the project and its
nurse advice line. Dr. Schneider leads the Healthwise Medical Team and directs the
efforts of the Healthwise Medical Review Board, a group of over 90 of the
country's leading specialists who review all new and updated Knowledgebase
